Today my wife and I celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary. We have known each other for almost 20 years. We are going to Jester’s theater in Longmont for a dinner and show. After nearly two decades, three kids, and countless adventures, I’m glad we are still together.

Zombie Petting Zoo!
Its a bonus entry this week, mostly due to my birthday. Normally I only post once a week on Saturday night to cover the week's events. In this case, I decided I'd post specially just for my birthday. I really didn't expect much to happen, but...
My wife publishes Macaroni Kids Broomfield and I'm really proud of her. She is doing an amazing job. The job does entail attending certain events, which is fine as they are usually fun. Especially for the kids and I! When 'mom' has to work, 'dad' gets to hang around with the girls experiencing whatever there is to experience.
Today was the All About Kids Expo powered by Radio Disney. The girls and I wandered the exhibits and had a blast. There were bounce houses, balloon animals, hair feathers, Bella and Zendaya from Shake It Up, Dancing, Petting zoos, Pony rides. And it was all included with the Admission Price! What a deal!
Near the end of the night we entered the 'camp zone', where local camps have booths trying to attract customers. One of the camps was a nature exhibit and had fur pelts lined up on the table. While my girls were feeling the pelts the girl behind me became excited, "Look, Mom! Its a zombie petting zoo!"
I lost it.

Birthday Week -- Foiled Again!
This week we celebrated my birthday. No party or friends, just the girls, myself, and the cake. Tradition in our house is the Birthday person gets to choose what they want for dinner, and the type of cake. So, we had lasagna and yellow-cake with chocolate frosting. My wife is an incredible cook and everything was delicious.
The Loot
Every good birthday brings some form of 'loot'. In this case, my family reached into dark recesses of my mind to find what I truly desired above all else:
Yes! At long last my plans to conquer my neighboring states could be realized! I studied the book for hours on end, plotting my various evil schemes, building my giant army of robots, in short, I was in Evil Genius Wonderland! All was great, except I needed a nemesis.
The Nemesis
I finally settled on the vilest, most goody two-shoes animal I could find: Agent Cookie!
Sure she's resting now, but at any moment she could spring forth with a white hot fury bent on stopping me. Ok, it was slim pickings for nemesis, but I was in a rush.
March on the Tri-State Area
So, with my nemesis picked out, I return to my Evil plan (Evil with a capital 'E'). I took the day off to march my robotic army of minions to the border of New Mexico, Colorado and Arizona. And what did I find?
When did Utah come into the picture? This was no longer a Tri-State area, it was a Quad-State area. I checked the index...nope...nowhere does it mentioned if there was fourth state. This book was completely useless! Foiled by a quirk in geopolitical boundaries!
Now what am I going to do with my army of robotic minions? hmmm....maybe ebay?
